Bachelors degree in Astrophysics 1993 and Medicine in 1998. Long standing interest in human space exploration and space medicine.

Have participated in NASA medical operations research and have completed space medical training rotations at Johnson Space Center, Houston and Kennedy Space Centre, Cape Canaveral. Advisory role to British National Space Centre. Liaison role with European Space Agency. Responsible for development of CASE research strategy.

Research includes: medical considerations for expedition class missions, psychological aspects of long duration space deployment and the influence of genetics on the human physiological response to microgravity.
