Shuttle veteran to lecture at UCL

Dave Williams, veteran of 2 shuttle missions, including Neurolab in 1998, has kindly offered to give a lecture at UCL on April 9th 2010.

Canadian Astronaut David Williams and Former Director of NASA Space Life Sciences Directorate is going to give a lecture at UCL at 2pm in the AV Hill Lecture Theatre, Anatomy Building (Gower Street), on the subject of Human Space Exploration and Space Life and Medical Sciences.

Bio:
Canadian Astronaut David Williams is a veteran of two shuttle missions. His first flight aboard STS-90 in 1998 focused on the effects of weightlessness on the brain and the nervous system. In 2007 aboard STS-118 his crew continued the assembly of the International Space Station with Dr. Williams performing three of the four space walks scheduled for that mission.

Between 1998 and 2002 he served as Director of the Space Life Sciences Directorate at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. Dr. Williams is a physician, having previously completed an Emergency Medicine Residency programme and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
