NASA Aerospace Medicine Elective

NASA Vehicle Assembly Building

Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida

The Centre for Aviation, Space and Extreme environment medicine at University College London is pleased to announce the opening of the selection process for the NASA KSC Aerospace Medicine elective.

This four-week clerkship will be held at the Kennedy Space Centre, Cape Canaveral, Florida and will run in the months of February and October each year. Places are available for one UK medical student in each of these months.

This elective will provide an introduction to space flight physiology and medicine, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to witness medical preparations for human space flight first hand and participate in related project work.

To be eligible for this elective, you must be a British Citizen, hold a British Passport and be studying at a UK medical school. Clinical experience is essential, and you must be in either your final or penultimate year of medical study by the starting date of the elective.

This competition will run annually. If you are not yet at the appropriate stage in your medical studies there will be further opportunities to apply. For further information please contact Rohit Swaroop or Daniela Garelick.
